The creation of the Forever Remember Journal is the result of my love for journaling.

A few years ago, a growing awareness of the value of journaling, and my love of beauty led me to think of ways to make my own journals more special. I wanted the experience of opening a journal that I could treasure for years to come. I began to cover them with leather and making them for some friends. They were well received, and I soon realized that I wanted to go further – I wanted to make a completely unique journal, and to design and print it for others to enjoy. So, I took a risk, and quit my part-time job to launch Forever Remember. I have not looked back!

I began by working with different leathers such as Moose, Deer and Elk but once I saw the Bison Leather I was hooked. The beautiful, thick soft leather just doesn’t compare to anything I’ve seen. The wonderful wrinkles of the bison hide are, for me, an eloquent story in itself. I am pleased also to have a tanner who tans the hide specifically for Forever Remember. This has been a gift as he does such a fantastic job!

The Bison are from sustainable farms in Manitoba, Canada.

I love the whole concept of unwrapping the journal each time you use it – it is like a gift you are giving yourself (which you truly are). When it’s time to “wrap up”, you can tuck away your thoughts and close it with your own signature knot.

The journal, though new, looks like a journal you would have picked up centuries before.

In August of 2010 my husband and I moved from Manitoba to British Columbia. We have two adult children whom we love to spend time with. We love the outdoors and suppers together around the table. I really enjoy photography, new adventures, dating my husband and times with friends. I have been journaling since I’ve been a teenager and for about the last 15 years it’s been a valuable, daily discipline that I look forward to. It always amazes me how landing my thoughts on paper gives me so much freedom. Freedom to let go of certain thoughts, emotions and patterns of thinking that can feel very “normal” but maybe aren’t always the best. Freedom to dream, hope, change and move forward into the best me possible. By putting those thoughts on paper it lets me gain a new perspective of the way I think and the truth of where I am at. I then can better navigate myself to where and who I want to be.

As I create each journal, I think of whose hands will end up holding it. It is an honor for me to know that maybe in this small way I can be a part of your story.
